Today, I rejoice with my sweet friends, Jennifer and Meia, also on adoption journeys. Jennifer's Article 5 (the approval of the DS 230 Visa application) is supposed to be picked up today. What is cool about that...is now I can picture the building where that takes place, because we were there 2 weeks ago. So, Jennifer and Charles wait for their TA (travel approval).
We are praying with them for a miracle...that they can fly to China before the end of October, before the Asian Games begin in Nov. They are being held in Guangzhou, where they will be staying (and where we stayed) which means it will be VERY crowded (more so than the already 10 million people that live there) and more expensive. We know God knows all the details and holds their sweet Alice in His hands, protecting her until they can redeem her as their own.
I know what that's like as a mother...this part of the wait is excruciating...to be so close...and to know there could be potential delays b/c of things completely out of our control...a mother who has wept, thought of, prayed for this daughter, day after day, for so long...but we know His timing is perfect and so we rest in that, while praying for a miracle.
And for Meia, she shared that their Dossier, the BIG kahuna of paperwork that adoptive families pour over for months to complete, should be sent to China tomorrow. This is a HUGE step!! So, HOORAY for them!!! As a side note, our adoption was actually legal 4 months to the day, that our Dossier was sent to China...so hopefully for their family, they will be traveling soon, too, to bring their sweet daughter home.
What an amazing God we serve....our church family is seeing firsthand the fruits of many prayer being answered, as these children come home. Paige and Eric brought their daughter, Emma, home in June; we just brought DanNi home; the Morrisons will soon bring Alice home..and the Evans will bring Betsy home shortly. We all, along with Jenny, attended an adoption conferece in Franklin, TN last Oct. 2009...and He is up to more....other families being licensed to care for and love foster children....WOW!! And what is man that He is mindful of him? Thank-You, Lord, for for faithfulness and patience with us, as we seek to serve You and live out this faith You have so graciously given us. We love You.
