Actually, I don't know if 'hoax' is even the right word, but it seemed to make sense...
Last night, my friend talked to DanNi for a long time on the phone, trying to discern if someone had scared her into not talking once she got to the US. I think she asked her multiple times, in different ways, and DanNi told her 'no'.
So, for that we are thankful. I am very thankful, if DanNi is telling the truth, that no one said anything really cruel or hurtful to her. I am very glad for that and pray that is true.
On the other hand, just knowing that DanNi basically confessed to being extremely stubborn, and resisting even saying simple yes/no, hi/bye, please/thank you, with us, because she knows that's what we want. Obviously we cannot force her to talk, and by no means do we think or believe she can talk in full sentences. We do however know, because we have heard her, say these simple words to other people.
That is what is so difficult, even though it was to be expected. Again, we cannot even begin to imagine what she has been through...I pray in time she can tell us...so we can ourselves marvel at the grace of God, when she does open up her heart. If I was her, and had been thru what she's experienced, I probably wouldn't be very nice either. So, we now think, her refusal to at least shake her head yes/no, when we were asking if anyone scared her into not talking, was her digging in...
for if she shook her head 'no', then her true stubborn motives would be revealed to us..and she was not about to let us know that truth.
So, in a sense, Satan is still trying...to be deceptive, controlling, manipulating, his only M.O....but we are not blind to it; he has not fooled us...so we put on the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of TRUTH and shod our feet with the Gospel of peace...we are ready for this battle and it is far from over....I am convinced it will be over when we lay our crowns at the feet of Jesus...so until then, may we labor in love for the sake of Christ...
I will continue to defend the cause of the orphan...there are millions who still need families...and in His Word, we know clearly God's heart for the fatherless...if we don't care for them, who will?
Hang in there, continuing to pray!
ReplyDeletehow is she doing with her siblings? are your seeing any cracks in her armour when she is playing with them? did your friend ask her why she is being so mean to you?....this older child adoption is definitely not for the faint of heart....Catherine
