Happy Birthday, Emma!

Dear Emma,

Yesterday at church was a tough day for me emotionally.....continually thinking about you, hoping and praying you would have a good birthday. Of course I wondered if the SWI acknowledges birthdays. Did anyone wish you a happy birthday? Did you have a good time with your friends?

Even though you weren't born from my tummy, you were born in my heart, and for that I am grateful. I feel so blessed, even though I have not had the chance to hold you yet, to hug you, to kiss you, to dry your tears, to laugh with you, to learn with you....all the things mothers and daughters do...I am blessed beyond measure that God chose me to be your mom. I absolutely cannot wait for that day!

So for now, even though you do not even know we are in the process of adopting you, keep working hard, learning, playing....and I pray for peace for you, and comfort, that somehow you would know you are loved and thought of, and prayed for every single day.
