Reflecting....

During the months of January and August, our church, Church of the Highlands, enters into 21 days of prayer. In January each year, fasting is added to the 21 days of prayer. We thoroughly enjoyed August as the Lord renewed us after a pretty grueling summer, getting to know how the business works and all the busy-ness that goes with owning your own business, which also happens to be a national franchise.

We are in the midst of this season of fasting and prayer and it has been incredible. I just wanted to share a few lyrics from some songs we have worshipped with, during the morning prayer times. I'm not sure who wrote them, but here they are....

Never once did we ever walk alone. ....Yes, my heart can say, never once did You leave us on our own. You are faithful, God, You are faithful. Scars and struggles along the way, but with joy my heart can say never once did we walk alone. Every step we are breathing in Your grace.
I am so grateful for where the Lord has us now. Whether you are on the mountaintop, or walking through a difficult valley, I know this--His Word is true; He is faithful; He is with you. There were times when felt like we were alone, but we were not. There were times when I questioned why it seemed like He was not moving to change our circumstances, but He was working nonetheless. I have found that through life's most difficult seasons, as He draws us closer to Him, He reveals things that need to be changed in our hearts, minds, and relationships; areas that need to be surrendered to His complete control. Maybe they are not bad, life-altering habits, but perhaps an attitude, a certain spirit that is damaging, or something else that does not glorify Him.

I pray that we can continue to say, "God, whatever comes my way--I will trust You....All my hopes and dreams are held in Your hands...."
