I am officially a grad student now...pursuing a MS in Human Services--Executive Leadership. I will be taking online classes with Liberty University and my first class in an intro to the Human Services field. in reading the syllabus, we have to write a paper about a social issue related to Human Services.
Because I am passionately pro-life and an adoption advocate, I will probably write my first paper, contrasting abortion vs. adoption, when a mother is facing an unwanted pregnancy. I plan on exploring the economic impact abortion has had on our country, which after brief research I've learned that since 1967, there have been approx. 50.5 million abortions performed in the US. And we wonder why God may be showing His wrath through floods, fires, hurricanes, and tornadoes?
As a believer, abortion is obviously morally wrong because I believe it constitutes murder, since life begins at conception (check out Psalm 139). But in an effort to persuade pro-choice people, abortion has helped tank our country's economy. The little research I've done so far, has quoted numerous economists stating that abortion is bad business...period. All of the aborted babies would one day grow up to be adults, with the majority being productive citizens, contributing to society, paying taxes, helping advance innovation, technology, engineering , etc. But now, we will never know.
I've often wondered, has Roe vs. Wade killed off the individuals who would have discovered the cure for cancer, diabetes, ALS, etc? Finally, I have never met someone who's pro-choice claim that they wish they'd been aborted..have you?
Love the last statement/question! I pray you have a successful school year!
