Most of my new favorite praise and worship songs are from NorthPoint and one of them is "Lord of All"....'...Your enemies rise, Your enemies fall, Your fire consumes them all, because there is none so high and holy; King of Kings, the One and Only, You are adored, You are the Lord of all...We adore You, We adore You, Lord of all the earth..."
Tonight we prayed again with the girls before bed and I thanked Jesus for each of our girls. DanNi had been reading a book and I don't know if she stopped reading while we prayed, but I do know this, she heard the Name of Jesus...the Name above all Names...the Name of the One who holds it all together...the One who holds the chaos we are feeling at times...the One who knows DanNi's heart and ours...She also heard her sister thank God for sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins. And I believe in my heart the verse in Psalms that says the Word of the Lord does not return void..so I know that one day DanNi will give her heart to Jesus...that is why we are here.
Then, my precious Meredith whispered, "Mommy, when are we going to tell DanNi about the One true God?...you know, they worship fake gods." Meredith gets it...she really gets this. So, that was a wonderful ending to an okay day, if we are measuring the day based on DanNi's mood/emotional state.
We did see her laugh at dinner when she and the other girls were being silly with their chopsticks and toothpicks. We ate with the other 2 AWAA families at a Thai restaurant. It was pretty tasty!! She still is trying to stay as far away from Matthew and I as possible, so we are just trying to be light-hearted about it. We did kiss her on the head at bedtime and she did not completely pull away....so that is good. We'll see what tomorrow brings! We are going to the Guangzhou Zoo. It is beautiful and we loved it 6 years ago. We will be home in 2 weeks...I am already dreaming about hearing the plane's landing gear hit the pavement...there's nothing like Home Sweet Home!
So thankful things are slowly moving in a positive direction. Our Community group prayed for you this morning. Bill Crane told us that he always knew that you would be something special. Bless Meredith's sweet spirit. You're right about her "getting it". The Lord will answer all the prayers that are being said on youall's behalf, He ALWAYS keeps his promises!! Continually lifting each of you up in prayer as you are becoming molded together as a family. We love each one of you, and will rejoice along with you when you are HOME!! Are excited for the day we get to meet our newest granddaughter, DanNi!
ReplyDeleteSo thankful things are getting better... hang in there!
ReplyDeleteWhen we don't see the Hand of God working that just means we have to put our complete trust in Him for we know He is in control. Today at church there were many who told us they were praying for each of you...sometimes in the darkest hours all we can do is turn our face heaven-ward and know that He is holding us up and will continue to walk with each of you every step of the way. Small steps will lead to bigger steps.....we continue to pray for you all and we look forward to seeing all 5 of you get off that plane in two weeks!! Yes Meredith is wise beyond her years, not only is DanNi hearing what she is saying but so is JJ.....huge blessings from a child who is so totally committed to Him. Love you and praying
ReplyDeleteWe forgot, maybe the zoo will open DanNi up a bit...we remember from when we were there with JJ how beautiful it was.....especially being able to see a Panda bear!! Hope all 3 girls enjoy this trip.
ReplyDeletesad she still is not in to yall but glad it was a tad better. Hope yall have fun at the zoo.
ReplyDeleteMatthew, Stephanie and Girls,
ReplyDeleteWe pray for you constantly. I can't imagine what a frustrating time this is for you and a terrifying time for DanNi. She will come around and you know that. I thought about her tonight while watching the youth at the bowling alley and how it won't be long until she is right in the middle of all of them acting just as silly and dancing with them. It will seem as though she has been a part of them from the very beginning! We passed DanNi's picture around in SS this morning and said a special prayer for all of you. Give the girls an extra kiss from their Parkview family. Can't wait for you to get HOME.
Love,
The Ellis Family
