It's hard to believe that several weeks have passed since my last post. However, a lot has happened since then! We worked like CRAZY to get our paperwork (I-800 app., DS 230 app. ,Visa apps., Referral Acceptance, and travel agreements) and care package for Emma completed before 6pm on Friday, June 25th. Why did they have to be finished by then, because I was scheduled to compete in a duathlon Sat. morning, we had a SS social that night, church Sun. morning, and the annual church picnic Sun. night. Then, Meredith and I left at 6am Mon., June 28th for children's camp!
Whew....I'm glad those days are over and all went well!!! USCIS processed our I-800 app. and we received a notice I-797C on Saturday, July 10th. I'm still trying to figure out if that's the actual approval, or if we're still waiting on something else, before the Ntl. Visa Center is notified to issue our visas.
Matthew worked like crazy to get Emma's package mailed when we were at children's camp. The paper I'd completed to ship it FedEx was not correct, apparently, up to US Customs standards. So, he took it to the post office and Candice helped him fill it out. We are still waiting to hear if Emma has received it. God has continued to provide us with wisdom and endurance as this journey winds down, so to speak.
We returned from children's camp (and I often thought, I bet Emma's never been to camp...just another childhood thing she's missed....but she'll get to go to youth camp next summer!!!) Thur., July 1st. The worship at camp was awesome! I love North Point's music. I think Meredith had fun, although she wasn't too fond of the dorms. When I was complaining that our room was not that cool b/c the A/C didn't really work, God reminded me to think of all the people all over the world who sleep outside, in the heat, all the time. I was quite humbled and reminded that He has blessed me far more than I deserve!
To Him be the glory and honor....
