Perspective.....

It seems like we can never be reminded often enough that's it's our perspective on life that counts. Today while I was walking through a Section 8 Housing development, the Lord reminded me, "It's not your circumstances that define you. It is He who is in you, that defines you." I was greatly encouraged by that. We all go through various seasons of life, some more difficult than others. And while we tread through our human existence here on earth, even as Christians, it is really hard sometimes to remain positive while 'stuck' in what I'd like to call a 'proverbial holding pattern.' We have had the privilege of traveling all over the world and have sometimes been stuck thousands of miles up in the air in an airplane, circling, for one reason or another. I don't like circling in a 'holding pattern' up in the air, and I certainly don't like being in a 'holding pattern' on the ground. I try to be patient, and am more successful on certain days than others. But when this holding pattern has been going on for roughly 2.5 years for different reasons, I am flat worn out. I am so thankful though, that His mercies are new every morning and His love lasts for eternity. His patience with me never runs out and He is there all the while, even in the waiting, and I am learning, especially in the waiting if I will only change my perspective. Be encouraged today, that regardless of your circumstance, the King of the Universe never has to be inaugurated for a second, or even a third term. He was and is and is to come. He is the First and will be the Last. He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and our end.
