Hopefully soon I can post pics of Matthew skydiving....yes, he did jump out of a perfectly good airplane on September 29th! It was a beautiful day, the perfect temp, and the perfect wind for a nice plummet toward planet Earth.
I think when you have been pushed to the absolute brink in every way imaginable, you will do things you normally may not consider. So, he did just that....and I am next. I mean, why not? Right? I actually did pray about the gift. Did I want to give him something that could potentially be fatal? Or, I just needed to adjust my perspective (there's a good sermon in there, for sure!). It was something he'd longed to do, but was nervous and would not have bought that for himself. So I decided I would do that for him for his b'day.
He jumped tandem with an instructor from 14,000 feet....falling at 120mph....for about 45 sec. before the chute deployed. Sounds like fun to me! Photos coming soon......
And I must say he looked extremely handsome in his skydiving outfit :)
