You might have noticed two new photos in the top right corner of the blog. Here's the story....Several weeks ago, I posted something on Danni's orphanage Yahoo group, looking for the parents of her closest friend from the orphanage. A mother named Shannon, from NC, sent me an email. She said she thought she may have photos of Danni from several years ago.
I wrote her back and found out she adopted a one-year-old daughter in Feb.2007. She requested from her agency to visit the SWI in Dianbai after her Gotcha Day. Her agency, which is also America World, (UNBELIEVABLE, since there are hundreds of adoption agencies out there that serve China) arranged for the trip.
She said that she went to breakfast with the SWI director, his wife, their daughter who could translate, and her driver. Shannon also mentioned that a little girl joined them for breakfast. She said the director's wife wanted to bring her along. And that little girl....our Danni. Shannon said she returned home and told her friend about Danni and they tried to find her file to adopt her, but couldn't find it.
(This is because at this point, Danni told the director she did not want to be adopted). Well, I guess not...this just being months after she was abandoned by a lady who took care of her for eight years. I'd say 'no', too! So, Shannon said she'd always prayed for Danni, and for a Christian family to adopt her. She said she'd been praying for her and for us for years and we didn't even know it.
Is that a miracle, or what? On that day I found out, I needed to hear that. Another reminder that God, before the foundation of the world, ordained that Danni would be part of our family. I hope that someday, she will realize that and really know how much He loves her.
We showed Danni these photos and she said she remembered that day. I was able to tell her that Shannon, loved Jesus, too, just like us, and she'd been praying for Danni, and that she would have a family someday.
