He is speaking...

After our Article 5 was processed in August, and we were waiting for our TA, my heart was so burdened. I wanted desperately to travel to China, to get our daughter and wrap my arms around her, stroke her face and hair and reassure her that everything was going to be alright.

Part of that has happened...obviously, we traveled to China to bring DanNi home, but I still long to hold her, hug her, touch her...as a mother, this is heartwrenching, to not be able to do this. I believe in time it will come, but on most days, I am not too sure that will ever happen. Matthew even commented last night how 'weird' it will be, when we one day can actually have a conversation with her...and we both do look forward to that. I think we all take communication with our spouses, children, family and friends for granted, but when it is completely absent, there is a huge void...obviously, because that's how relationships are built and trust is established.

While we were waiting for our TA and I was pleading to God for a miracle, that would allow us to travel in September, I heard a song on the radio I'd never heard before..it goes like this...
"You have a much better purpose; You have a far greater plan; You have a bigger perspective because You hold the world in Your hands......When the miracle comes because You have said 'Yes', I'll praise You for all my days....and when the answer is 'No' because You know what's best; I'll praise You just the same...."

WOW!! That night in the car, I really needed to hear that. Those lyrics brought me peace, and in a few days, God said "Yes", it was time for us to bring DanNi home.

Now, we are home and we are praying for new miracles...that DanNi would realize we love her, that she can trust us, and most importantly God loves her and He created her for a purpose. In time, all those things will be realized, but on October 11, I was having a REALLY hard day...

DanNi and I were in the car, alone, and the radio was on again, like always....and this song started to play....That was only the second time I had heard it, and I haven't heard it since. He knows my heart and what I need...I actually pulled off the road into a parking lot and wrote down the few lyrics I could scratch on a piece of paper while the song played.

So, be encouraged...He sees You and He knows...He is El Roi...even when we don't know ourselves exactly what we need from Him, His Spirit is interceding on our behalf to the throne of heaven..for His glory and our good.

  1. We have met our little boy in Russia and are waiting (and waiting) for our court date. Thank you for this. My heart needs to be reminded over and over.

  2. Waiting Room Lyrics
    Jonny Diaz

Here in this waiting room yearning for You to say go
And though I’m convinced that a yes would be best
This time You’re telling me no

It’s not that I don’t have an answer
It’s just not the one that I’d like
But through this time Lord I must keep in mind
    You’re always wiser than I

You have a much better purpose
And You have a far greater plan
And You have a bigger perspective
Cause You hold this world in your hands

The things that I seek are from You
Like the strong healing touch of your hand
But when You say no help me trust even though
    There’s a reason I can’t understand

Cause you have a much better purpose
And You have a far greater plan
And You have a bigger perspective
Cause You hold this world in your hands

When that miracle comes cause Your answer is yes
I will praise you for all of my days
But when Your wisdom declares that a no is best
I will praise You just the same

You have a much better purpose
And You have a far greater plan
And You have a bigger perspective
Cause You hold this world in your hands

You hold this world in your hands
